Clinical case 780
Porcelain fused to metal crowns
The patient, a 29 year old businessman, came to the clinic hoping for us to restore his once smile. The case was difficult because he had a very strong bite so practically he broke his upper teeth with his lower teeth. The treatment with composite restorations was not an option for this case because they would have broken immediately (he told us that another doctor already try this type of treatment, various times, and after just a few days the restorations broke). So we decided for the treatment with porcelain fused to metal crowns.
After the reshaping of the four incisors, considering that the teeth have suffered consecutive fractures, the abutments proved to be at the limit of resistance, however the corono-radicular reconstructions were not required. The space was redivided so that the bite would not be affected, the result being very good from both functional and aesthetic points of view.
